Southampton are on the look out for a new manager following the departure of Ronald Koeman to Everton.

Matt Le Tissier has told the Alan Brazil Sports Breakfast, which was broadcast on 16th June, that he would like Unai Emery as the next Southampton manager.

Emery has been linked with the Saints job, but the Sevilla manager is also attracting the attentions of PSG.

Southampton have also been tipped to be considering both David Moyes and Roberto Martinez, following the departure of Ronald Koeman, but Le Tissier doesn’t want either of the former Everton bosses.

“Of the ones that are available… it’s a tricky one. Unai Emery has been fantastic at Sevilla,” he said when asked which manager he wants Southampton to appoint.

“I don’t think the way the club wants to play would suit David Moyes. It’s not the style Southampton want to go down.

“That is the style of play that we want to do, but we tend to like to defend a bit better than Martinez teams do.”

Southampton have been left looking for a new manager, following the departure of Ronald Koeman.

Koeman left Southampton to join Everton in an unexpected move earlier this week.

The Saints are now assessing their options, as they look to put the right man in charge for next term.

Southampton are believed to be considering both Eddie Howe and Manuel Pellegrini as they aim to build on last season’s sixth placed finish in the Premier League.
