Bilic has been one of the stars of the Euro 2016, sparkling in his TV punditry role with a mixture of in-depth knowledge, analysis and humour.

The former Croatia boss was at his brilliant best as one of the panel for France's 2-0 win over Albania on Wednesday night.

Back home, the Hammers impressed fans and pundits alike by mounting a serious challenge for the Champions League places in Bilic's debut season.

As well as taking a number of notable scalps home and away, including a historic treble over Liverpool, Bilic has reinvigorated the East Londoners and with stars such as Dimitri Payet and Manuel Lanzini, the Hammers are playing the 'West Ham way' once more.

And one of the club's former stars Jack Collison has delivered his verdict on the fans' favourite on social networking site Twitter.

"Bilic is absolutely brilliant," Collison said.

"You can see why his boys want to play for him."

The Irons have officially enjoyed their best ever points tally in the Premier League era last season and have a positive goal difference for the first time since 1986.

Bilic also masterminded a fitting and thrilling 3-2 comeback win over Manchester United in the last ever game at Upton Park and steered the club into the Europa League for their first season at the Olympic Stadium.

Expectations to rise?

Hammers co-owner Sullivan recently revealed he could not have asked any more of his manager, although expectations could rise further still in East London with a number of top quality signings expected to arrive this summer.

With the potential of an extra 20-odd matches if the club was to go all the way in the Europa League that squad will need to be deep and talented.
