Hugo Lloris 6.5/10 - The France and Spurs skipper had little to trouble him and had no hope for an attempt that came back off the post.

Bacary Sagna 6/10 - Solid in his work up and down the right flank, shot just wide with a volley as France searched for a goal.

Adil Rami 6.5/10 - Defended well enough, but his moment of note was strangely as he appeared on the right wing late on to whip a great cross towards Griezmann for the opener.

Laurent Koscielny 6/10 - Led a defence that had a little more to deal with than they would have expected, but didn't do much wrong.

Patrice Evra 5.5/10 - Was tested by his Albanian opponent, and put in some desperate challenges at times. Looking less confident than he did a couple of years ago at this level.

Blaise Matuidi 6.5/10 - Part of a central midfield for France that had to be switched on and combative, and the PSG man and Kante edged their opponents, getting stronger once Pogba joined them.

N’Golo Kante 7/10 - Was his usual busy, no nonsense self, with an astonishing capacity to win back possession across the pitch. A couple of times when the ball seemed to desert him, still he managed to wrestle it back.

Dimitri Payet 8/10 - The West Ham star and hero against Romania wasn’t quite able to have the same influence against Albania for much of the game, but still carried plenty of threat whenever he got the ball. Full of quality touches and he improved when moved to the left, sealing the win with another super strike in added time. What a player.

Kingsley Coman 6/10 - Had some nice tricks and looked promising but couldn’t really influence the match. Taken off for Griezmann midway through the second half.

Anthony Martial 5.5/10 - A little unlucky to be withdrawn at halftime, but he had few opportunities to demonstrate his pace and skill against a committed defence.

Olivier Giroud 6/10 - The 29-year-old had a couple of good chances from crosses, including thumping headers that hit the post and flew just wide. Unlucky not to score.

Paul Pogba 7/10 - Raised the morale of the French supporters when he came on for the second half, and Pogba carried the ball well at every opportunity, even if he was guilty of hanging on to it a little too long on a couple of occasions. Hit a super long range pass to set up the second goal.

Antoine Griezmann 6.5/10 - Wasn’t as involved in proceedings as he would have liked after coming on to the field, but scored a superb header as a draw looked on the cards to break the deadlock.

Andre-Pierre Gignac 6/10 - Carried a little more threat with the ball at his feet than Giroud, and played a part in Payet’s goal as he ran onto a super pass from deep from Pogba.
