The Tottenham Hotspur midfielder still has plenty to offer the right club and would fit in at Crystal Palace, West Bromwich Albion, Southampton or Everton.
According to a recent report from the Daily Mail, Tottenham Hotspur are prepared to sell Nabil Bentaleb to make space for Victor Wanyama this summer.
The Southampton star has long been linked with a move to White Hart Lane and it seems his former manager Mauricio Pochettino is aware that he would have to sell one midfielder to bring in another, with that area of the team yielding plenty of options right now.
While there are likely to be plenty of clubs on the continent eager to sign the Algerian international if he does become available, here are four Premier League sides who could take a punt.
Southampton
The most obvious first, with a potential swap deal involving Bentaleb and Wanyama surely on the cards if the Kenyan does move to North London this summer.
It would mean Tottenham could save some money and offer the Saints a replacement for their departing star, although much would obviously depend on the south coast club’s feelings towards the 21-year-old.
Everton
New Everton manager Ronald Koeman will be looking to significantly strengthen the Toffees squad this summer and a move for Bentaleb would give him a young, undeniably talented player with a point to prove in the English top flight.
At his best Bentaleb is a force in the Premier League and if he can rediscover his best form he would be a hit at Goodison Park.
West Bromwich Albion
West Bromwich Albion manager Tony Pulis may have been thinking that when he next did business with Tottenham it would be to finally wave goodbye to Saido Berahino, but that ship looks to have sailed.
The Baggies could however do with younger players in the centre of the park and Berahino would slot in well at The Hawthorns if they made a move.
Crystal Palace
According to the Mail’s report, Crystal Palace are interested in bringing Bentaleb to Selhurst Park and there is little doubt he would be far more successful than Emmanuel Adebayor was last season.
This one certainly has legs with the player potentially keen to stay in the capital; the question is would Palace pay what Tottenham are asking?
