Arsenal striker Olivier Giroud’s performance for France last night, has drawn mixed reviews on social media site Twitter.
Giroud was selected to start up front for France in their match against Albania.
Les Blues won 2-0 against Albania, but they were pushed all the way by the underdogs.
France could not break down Albania’s resilient defence until the last minutes, when Antoine Greizmann and Dimitri Payet sealed the triumph.
Giroud was off the pitch at that point, and he had missed a couple of good chances during his time on the field.
The Arsenal man hit the post with a header in the second half, and also diverted a cross just wide as France pushed to take the lead.
The Gunners front man’s performance has been heavily debated on social media, with some supporters suggesting he played well and others stating that he was poor. Here is a collection of the best reaction on Twitter.
With Ozil and Xhaka in our midfield we need a better finisher than Giroud as our CF. #afc— Ahmad AFC (@Gooners_we) June 15, 2016

Giroud is one of those players who can be frustrating & you can criticise when he plays but you miss him when he doesn't play.— Faisal (@Fez_AFC) June 15, 2016
Giroud gets treated so badly by the French fans, undeserving idiots they are.— Faisal (@Fez_AFC) June 15, 2016
Literally half chances for Giroud, hits the post with a great header.— - (@Wheeler__AFC) June 15, 2016
Only tweets I'm seeing are jokes about his 'awful misses'. Poor sod.
France's last match in the group stages comes against Switzerland on Sunday, when it remains to be seen whether Giroud will start.
