Mario Balotelli's agent Mino Raiola has admitted he is trying to get the striker a move to Besiktas.

Speaking to Turkish outlet Fotomac, reported in Balotelli's native Italy by Tuttomercatoweb.

Balotelli remains contracted to Liverpool but is not thought to be in their plans, after being sent out on loan to AC Milan this past season.

Raiola said: "I offered Mario to Besiktas and I am optimistic, I think he will go. One hundred percent."

Balotelli appears to have exhausted his options in Italy, only scoring one goal for Milan last season in Serie A.

He is the second Liverpool player linked with a move to Turkey this week, with SkySports reporting defender Martin Skrtel is closing in on a £5.5 million switch to Fenerbahce.

Balotelli was signed under Brendan Rodgers' management and failed to impress in 2014/15, scoring just one Premier League goal.

While he is yet to meet up with new Reds boss Jurgen Klopp, the chance to trim their wage bill and offload him has to appeal, and it may not take much in terms of an offer to convince Liverpool to sell.
