The Hammers hitman has been strongly linked with a move to Sunderland, Sam Allardyce having signed him for West Ham two years ago, but their two bids have fallen short of the London club's £15 million valuation, it has been reported.
Some West Ham fans seemingly know a good deal when they see one, but others have reacted negatively to the rumour on Twitter.
Seems to me WBA can't wait to get shot of Berahino. Don't need another bad apple at the club. Would rather take the money.— SexDrugs&CarltonCole (@S_D_C_C) June 15, 2016
Berahino is not an improvement on Sakho, ability wise. Dodgy agent. Attitude problems. How can people want to swap them?!— Sean Sweeney (@SeanSweeney09) June 15, 2016
It'd be incredibly stupid of us to swap Sakho with Berahino. We only want rid of Sakho for his bad attitude and Berahino's is 100x worse.— Jack Lebeau (@JackLebeau66) June 15, 2016
If West Brom want Diafra Sakho in a swap for Berahino, then I would straight up sell him to Spurs for £25m the same afternoon.— JYJ (@JameswhufcJones) June 14, 2016
Berahino, 22, endured a trying 2015-16 campaign, netting just four times in 31 appearances after his prospective move to Tottenham Hotspur collapsed toward the end of the summer transfer window.
Sakho, meanwhile, scored five in 18 Premier League appearances for West Ham, but there is a sense that he needs a fresh start somewhere. It does not appear as if Irons boss Slaven Bilic has long-term plans for the Senegalese.
