Report: Barcelona wonderkid Abel Ruiz to reject Premier League move

Barcelona teenager Abel Ruiz is reportedly set to turn down a move to the Premier League, according to Spanish publication Sport

A number of Premier League clubs have been credited as having an interest in the 16-year-old forward in recent weeks, following some impressive performances for his country at the Under-17 European Championship last month. 

Arsenal were understood to have had a bid turned down in January, while further reports suggested linked the player with a move to Chelsea, with the Metro even claiming that the Blues had held preliminary talks with the player's family.

Bayern Munich coach Josep GuardiolaFormer Barcelona coach Josep Guardiola was reportedly keen on bringing Ruiz to Manchester City 

Former Barca boss Pep Guardiola was also thought to be considering a move for the youngster before moving to Manchester City. 

But Ruiz has reportedly decided to instead sign a new three-year deal at the Liga champions. 

Ruiz arrived in Catalonia from Valencia in the summer of 2012 and has since established himself as one of the club's hottest prospects, with his reputation even drawing comparisons with former striker Zlatan Ibrahimovic.
