They had been alerted to him after he scored 14 goals in 22 starts in the Spanish second division this past season.

It was believed they were considering him after the success that Ayoze Perez has enjoyed as the club, since joining the North East side from the same club back in 2014.

However, according got he Chronicle, he is unlikely to make a move any time soon as Newcastle are not planning an imminent move.

That does not mean they are not interested though, with the Chronicle saying he is very much on Rafa Benitez’s radar.

It is unsurprising to discover that he is looking at the Spanish market, having enjoyed a lot of success signing Spanish players across his career.

With him expected to be busy in this summer transfer window, perhaps there will be more of those signings at St James’ Park this summer, although it appears Nano will not be one of them.
