Gor Mahia midfielder Khalid Aucho has told Goal that a move to Rangers is merely a matter of time after weeks of speculation surrounding his future.

The Gers have already added four new midfielders in Josh Windass, Matt Crooks, Jordan Rossiter and Joey Barton, but speculation has been suggesting that another one could arrive.

African Football reported last month that Uganda international Khalid Aucho was attracting interest from Rangers, in what would be something of a major surprise.

The 22-year-old midfielder, playing in Kenya for Gor Mahia, has earned comparisons to Southampton's former Celtic star Victor Wanyama - and now looks set to move to Europe.

Rangers have been fairly quiet throughout the speculation surrounding Aucho's possible move to Ibrox, but the player himself has now updated the situation.

Speaking to Goal, Aucho claimed that a move to Ibrox is now just a matter of time, as he has sorted everything at his end and Rangers simply have to get the deal done now.

Aucho added that a move to Europe is his dream, but until his move to Rangers is confirmed, the Ugandan will continue to give 100% for Gor Mahia.

"It is just a matter of time before everything goes through," said Aucho. "I have already done everything on my part and all that is remaining is for them to do their part and come for my services. It is my dream to play in Europe and this is a massive step in my career. However, until that happens, I will continue to give my best for Gor Mahia because it is my club," he added.
