Tottenham Hotspur face Everton in their opening match of the new season.
Tottenham kick off the new campaign with a trip to Goodison Park to take on Everton before hosting Crystal Palace and Liverpool in what are a tough but winnable opening three fixtures.
Pochettino will now know what he has to prepare for and when, and he has acknowledged that just as in previous years, his first match of the season at the north London club will be tricky.
“It’s always great to know the fixtures and we are all excited because we can feel the new season is coming,” he said.
“My first game was West Ham, then Manchester United last year and Everton this season. It has never been easy.”
The Toffees are now managed by another former Southampton boss, Ronald Koeman, and it will be interesting to see what both Everton and Tottenham look like when they return to domestic matters.
Both are likely to considerably strengthen their playing squads and if they can get the right players Tottenham could go one step further than last season while also making waves on their return to the Champions League.
