Celtic striker Stefan Scepovic would love a return to former club Sporting Gijon, the Daily Record reports.

Scepovic is being tipped to leave Parkhead this summer, having spent the 2015-16 campaign in Spain with Getafe.

The Serbian scored six La Liga goals last season but was unable to prevent the Madrid side's relegation.

Earlier this month, the Daily Mail reported that Scepovic could be on his way back to the Coliseum Alfonso Perez, as Bhoys boss Brendan Rodgers looks to trim the squad he inherited from Ronny Deila.

However, according to the Daily Record, the 26-year-old could be bound for Sporting instead.

Not that it would be a problem for Scepovic.

"It would be a very interesting option for me to return to Sporting," he said.

"The fans there loved me and I loved them, but I have to wait until they make a firm proposal to me."

Scepovic, who arrived in Glasgow from Sporting in 2014, scored 23 goals in 41 appearances for the Asturian side.

However, he has struggled to replicate his El Molinon form, finding the net on just five occasions in Green and White.

Rodgers is being tipped to add to his forward line this summer, and has already cut Colin Kazim-Richards and Anthony Stokes in order to make room for new additions.

According to the Express, another front man, Carlton Cole, could also be on his way out of Parkhead.
