According to The Sun, Manchester City have agreed a deal to sigh Schalke’s Leroy Sane.
The report claims that the German international is to join Pep Guardiola’s men after the European Championships this summer as City agree to a £40 million deal.
The Citizens are set for an interesting summer amid Guardiola’s arrival at the club and one signing from Germany has already been made - ex Borussia Dortmund ace Ilkay Gundogan.
Sane currently plays for Dortmund’s closest rivals Schalke, and it is there at the Veltins Arena where the youngster has burst onto the scene and made a name for himself among Bundesliga observers.
His broke into the first-team set-up during the 2014/15 season and stunned the Santiago Bernabeu that year with a wonderful effort from range as Schalke defeated Real Madrid 4-3 in the Spanish capital.
Sane has since earned international recognition with Germany, and he was deservedly included in Joachim Low’s 23-man squad for the European Championships this summer in France.
City boast attacking talent in the likes of David Silva, Raheem Sterling, Kevin De Bruyne, Samir Nasri and Jesus Navas yet Sane is arguably different to the lot and would make a decent addition.
The report goes on to say that Real Madrid, Bayern Munich and Manchester Unite were all keen on the 20-year-old though it appears City have won the race for his signature.
