Leicester made a mockery of the so-called football experts by claiming the Premier League title last season against all odds and their achievement will arguably go down as one of the greatest upsets in sporting history.
While one would have to be brave to underestimate Leicester during the upcoming campaign as well, it is widely suspected that the Foxes will find it a bit more difficult to claim the title next season – especially with the added rigours of Champions League football.
In order to deal with the extra workload as well as the added expectations, manager Claudio Ranieri will in all likelihood need to strengthen his ranks at the King Power stadium this summer.
A couple of names have been mentioned as targets for Leicester over the past few weeks and now according to reports emerging out of Italy, claims have been made that the Foxes are interested in signing Swansea star Sigurdsson.
Sigurdsson was one of the most prolific midfield players last season, scoring 11 goals in 36 appearances and his contribution went a long way in helping Swansea avoid the drop comfortably.
The Iceland international’s exploits have caught the attention of Ranieri and Tutto Mercato claim that Leicester are already in advanced talks over the completion of the potential transfer.
Sigurdsson is arguably one of the best midfielders in the Premier League at the moment and he would certainly prove to be a welcome addition at the King Power Stadium, ahead of their debut Champions League campaign.
