Manchester United fans react harshly to Zlatan Ibrahimovic’s performance against Ireland

Some Manchester United supporters were not impressed with Zlatan Ibrahimovic’s display against the Republic of Ireland.

It has been widely reported that Zlatan Ibrahimovic will be joining Manchester United this summer and while nothing has been confirmed as of yet, the Red Devils’ faithful were certainly looking forward to their potential new signing in action at the European Championships.

Ibrahimovic captained Sweden in their Euro 2016 opener against the Republic of Ireland on Monday and the striker played a key role in helping his side earn a vital point, after drawing an error from Irish defender Ciaran Clark in the 71st minute.

Despite his important contribution though, Ibrahimovic’s overall display was a bit subdued by his usual high standards and many United fans were not entirely impressed with how the 34-year-old performed during the clash.

The Red Devils faithful took to Twitter to express their reservations regarding Ibrahimovic and here is a selection of some of the best reactions:

Nonetheless, not all United fans were displeased with Ibrahimovic and they went on to defend the striker with the following posts on Twitter.

Sweden now prepare to square off against Italy on Friday and one can be sure that Ibrahimovic will need to put in a much improved performance during that encounter in order to appease the demanding United faithful.
