Southampton have approached Barcelona regarding a move for Cristian Tello, who has also been linked with Everton (Di Marzio) and Liverpool (Marca), the Sun reports.

For the third summer running, Saints are bracing themselves for the departures of key players and staff, with the exit of manager Ronald Koeman to Everton confirmed earlier on Tuesday.

A number of Saints stars, Fraser Forster, Virgil van Dijk and Victor Wanyama, have been tipped to follow (Sun), while Sadio Mane is also said to be interesting Liverpool (Express).

However, as is often the case, the Saints appear to have a contingency plan in place and, according to the Sun, have made a play for the unsettled Tello.

The Catalan is said to be looking for a permanent home, having spent the past two campaigns on loan to Porto and Fiorentina.

After arriving in Florence in January, Tello scored twice and created five assists in 15 appearances, and the Viola are reportedly keen to re-sign him next season.

Southampton are also said to be closing in on a deal for Norwich City winger Nathan Redmond (Mirror).
