Phil Neville and Gary Lineker have both stated on Twitter that Ronald Koeman will be a good appointment for Everton.
Koeman finally completed a move to the Toffees from Southampton earlier, after weeks of speculation.
The Dutch boss has signed has signed a three-year deal with Everton, after the Merseyside club agreed to pay £5 million in compensation to persuade Southampton to let him go.
And Neville, who used to play for Everton during his playing days, felt the appointment would be an excellent one.
Gary Lineker shared Neville’s opinion, and stated that Everton had made a very astute appointment.
However, Lineker also shared his sympathy with Southampton fans - who have seen many of their top talent leave St. Mary’s in recent years.
Koeman’s first task with Everton will be to help them start challenging for for the top six in the Premier League.
The Toffees finished in 11th place last season, and have a lot of work to do if they are to fulfil the ambitious aims of their new owner Farhad Moshiri.
