Former Leeds United and Queens Park Rangers manager Neil Warnock gave his opinion on the future of West Ham United attacking midfielder Dimitri Payet on The Alan Brazil Sports Breakfast show on talkSPORT on Tuesday morning (broadcast from 6am, June 14).
Payet is one of the best players in the Premier League and was in brilliant form this past season.
The France international scored nine goals and created 116 chances in 30 league appearances for the Hammers during the 2015-16 campaign.
The 29-year-old’s impressive displays have reportedly put him on the wishlist of three of the biggest clubs in the world.
Chelsea, Real Madrid and Paris Saint-Germain are all claimed to be interested in securing the services of Payet this summer.
Former Crystal Palace and Rotherham United boss Warnock believes that the Hammers will not want to sell Payet even if they are offered £40 million as transfer fee.
“You can, you know,” said Warnock on The Alan Brazil Sports Breakfast show on talkSPORT on Tuesday morning (broadcast from 6am, June 14) when asked if he can see Payet leaving West Ham for Chelsea this summer if the Hammers are offered £40m as transfer fee.
“I didn’t think before, but I don’t see anybody better than him in this competition (Euro 2016) at the moment and I don’t see anybody better than him in the Premier League.
“I mean, what is £40m? I mean, I still don’t think West Ham will want to sell him if they got offered £40m.”
