Former Leeds United and Queens Park Rangers manager Neil Warnock suggested on The Alan Brazil Sports Breakfast show on talkSPORT on Tuesday morning (broadcast from 6am, June 14) that Everton striker Romelu Lukaku is not worth £60 million.
Warnock believes that no club is going to pay Everton £60m in order to sign the Belgium international this summer.
The former Crystal Palace and Rotherham United boss has also raised doubts on whether Chelsea would want to re-sign Lukaku.
The London outfit recruited the 23-year-old striker from Belgian club Anderlecht in the summer of 2011.
Lukaku struggled to make an impact at Stamford Bridge and left Chelsea on a permanent deal in the summer of 2014.
According to a report in The London Evening Standard in May, the Blues want to re-sign the Belgium international striker this summer.
“I don’t think people are going to spend £60 million on Lukaku,” said Warnock on The Alan Brazil Sports Breakfast show on talkSPORT on Tuesday morning (broadcast from 6am, June 14).
“I don’t know, unless they have just got money. And Chelsea. The thing about Chelsea - they have already got rid of him once, haven’t they? They have got to be thinking, ‘Will the same happen again?’”
Lukaku scored 18 goals and created 51 chances in 37 Premier League appearances for Everton during the 2015-16 campaign.
The Belgium international striker had a pass accuracy of 73% and a shot accuracy of 56%, and won 93 headers, 41 dribbles and seven tackles.
