The Hammers have been linked with a plethora of players as Slaven Bilic looks to improve his squad ready for the big move to the 60,000 seater Olympic Stadium.

West Ham had already completed the signing of Norweigan midfielder Havard Nordveit and have now added exciting Algerian attacker Feghouli to their ranks on a free transfer from La Liga side Valencia although the move is yet to be officially confirmed on the club's website.

The winger has spent the last six years with Valencia scoring 20 goals in 144 games.

Bilic has already sent back loan players Victor Moses, Emmanuel Emenike and Alex Song to their respective clubs and is in need of midfield reinforcements.

What do we know about Feghouli?

Things didn't start too well for him at Valencia and he was jeered by fans after some glaring misses in front of goal.

He soon won them over though with his dazzling skills and exciting attacking play.

The 26-year-old qualified to play for France or Algeria internationally - much like France legend Zinedine Zidane - and featured for France at youth level before eventually deciding to play for Algeria.

Feghouli has nine goals in 35 games for his country and was one of the stars for Algeria during their fantastic World Cup exploits in Brazil.

He was voted the Best African Player in La Liga in 2014-2015 and won the Algerian Footballer of the Year award in 2012.

Feghouli no angel

But he is no stranger to controversy either.

As reported by the likes of the Express, the longstanding Manchester United and Tottenham Hotspur target was suspended by Valencia earlier this year for refusing to take part in a warm-down earlier this year.

A statement released by the club at the time said: "Valencia Football Club has decided to open disciplinary proceedings to the player Sofiane Feghouli.

"During the processing period and pending the resolution of the case cited, the player is suspended as a precautionary measure employment, according to the agreement in force AFE - Professional Football League."
