Liverpool have received a piece of unexpected good news with Brazil suffering a surprise exit from the Copa America.

The positives are two-fold, with Reds attacker Philippe Coutinho now able to start his summer break earlier than anticipated.

But more importantly, growing speculation over his future has suddenly been spiked, with the attacker no longer able to add to his profile at international level.

Coutinho bagged a hat-trick against Haiti earlier in the tournament, and after the game was immediately asked about a potential move to PSG, SkySports reported.

The game seemed to confirm his reputation as Brazil's biggest up and coming star behind Neymar, making it easy to see why PSG or Barcelona would be willing to turn his head, and throw Liverpool a conundrum by way of a £40 million plus bid.

Now after their 1-0 loss to Peru, the narrative has changed and Coutinho is now part of one of the most disappointing Brazil sides to appear at the Copa America in their history, knocked out in the group stage.

Brazil's exit will prevent Coutinho's reputation suddenly skyrocketing above the level it is already at, and his exploits against a very weak Haiti side will be kept in context.

Liverpool fans know exactly the type of talented player they have in Coutinho, but the huge offers might not come for the Brazilian as had been expected.

Had he bagged a brace in the Copa America final or been outstanding through the knockout rounds, the hype around the 24-year-old would have increased, but Reds fans may be able to rest a bit easier that their playmaker will not be on public view again until he is representing them in pre-season.
