Leeds United are interested in signing Oxford United forward Kemar Roofe, according to reports.
Leeds United supporters appear to be enthused by the rumours that they are interested in Oxford United striker Kemar Roofe.
The Yorkshire Evening Post claimed that Roofe is on Garry Monk’s wishlist, as he looks to improve Leeds’ striking ranks.
Monk is likely to prioritise signing a striker this summer, as Chris Wood appears to be his only reliable option up top currently.
And Leeds fans are excited about the potential of a partnership involving both Wood and Roofe. Here is the best reaction on social media site Twitter.
2 mill for Roofe is a bargain just do the right thing @LUFC— Armo #LS39 (@Jordan_Armo) June 13, 2016
Kemar Roofe is a real talent, can play across the front line and a great player to watch. Would be a top addition to the Leeds squad. #lufc— Tom Carnduff (@TomC_22) June 13, 2016
Leeds have already released Mirco Antenucci this summer, while Souleymane Doukara is likely to move on, leaving the Yorkshire side’s attacking options looking limited.
Roofe would be an eye catching addition, given how impressive his last season was.
Roofe netted 26 goals in 49 appearances for Oxford last term, and he won the League Two Player of the Season award.
If Leeds do make an offer for Roofe they are unlikely to find it easy to land the attacker, as plenty of other Football League sides have also been linked with the youngster.
