Modric was on the books of North London outfit Tottenham from 2008 until 2012.
During his time at White Hart Lane, the Croatia international midfielder established himself as one of the best players in the Premier League.
In the summer of 2012, Spanish and European giants Real Madrid came calling and signed Modric from Tottenham.
The 30-year-old has been a huge success at Madrid, winning the Champions League twice and the Copa del Rey once.
Modric is on international duty at the moment, playing for Croatia at the ongoing Euro 2016 finals in France.
The former Dinamo Zagreb star scored the only goal of the match between Turkey and Croatia in Group D on Sunday.
The midfielder found the net in the 41st minute with a sensational long-range volley, as Croatia won the game 1-0.
Former Liverpool defender Carragher was following the match, and he was impressed with Modric’s performance.
The former England international has suggested on Twitter that he would love to see Modric back in the Premier League, although he has made it clear that he would not want Manchester United to sign him.
