According to GianlucaDiMarzio, Stoke City and Everton have made contact for Barcelona’s Cristian Tello.
The report claims that Fiorentina would like to strike a deal with Barcelona this summer for the winger, yet Stoke and Everton are currently leading the race for his signature having already opened talks.
Tello burst onto the scene for the Spanish giants during Pep Guardiola’s reign, displaying blistering pace in wide areas and an ability to beat defenders at ease much like former teammate Pedro.
However, he soon found first-team opportunities difficult to come by at the Nou Camp and thus spent the past two seasons out on loan, first with Portuguese giants Porto and then later Fiorentina.
The Italian side are now working on another loan deal with an option to buy him on a permanent basis for a fee in the region of £4.75 million, although they are in danger of missing out altogether.
Stoke and Everton seemingly lead the charge, with both clubs keen on bolstering their wide areas.
The Potters have in recent seasons strengthened their squad with renowned names such as Bojan Krkic, Ibrahim Afellay and Xherdan Shaqiri, and in Tello they could strike another bargain.
Everton, in contrast, are expected to name Ronald Koeman as their new manager shortly and the Dutchman will see a lack of width at the Toffees as an area to improve this summer.
Tello, 24, managed two goals and four assists in 15 Serie A games for Italian side Fiorentina last season.
