Wales' Joe Ledley, Hal Robson Kanu and Joe Allen before the game
Wales took on Slovakia on Saturday afternoon as the two sides met in their Euro 2016 Group B opener.
It proved to be a good afternoon for Chris Coleman’s side as goals from Gareth Bale and Hal Robson-Kanu saw them secure a 2-1 win and all three points.
It was no less than they deserved from a highly impressive performance and Allen was keen to praise his team following the win.
“Never mind my performance, the team was brilliant,” he told BBC Sport.
“We showed great grit. To go 1-0 up, then get pegged back and for a spell we were against the ropes for a bit, but we dug deep like we always do and that is what this team is all about.”

Wales can now turn their attention to their second game, which will see them taking on England.
Roy Hodgson’s side were bitterly disappointed in their first game as a late goal from Russia saw the two sides sharing the points.
That puts the pressure firmly on the Three Lions to get the win over their rivals to try to ensure their progress from the Group stages this summer.
They will face a tough task against the Welsh though, whose confidence will be soaring after such an impressive opening win.
