Inter Milan's Jeison Murillo celebrates after scoring a third goal against Frosinone.

According to a report from the print edition of Correire Dello Sport (12/06/2016) and later posted online by Football Italia, Tottenham Hotspur have been offered their pick of Marcelo Brozovic or Jeison Murillo in return for Erik Lamela.

The Argentine international arrived at White Hart Lane with a huge reputation but he has failed to produce his best form on a consistent basis; although the signs last season suggested he had turned a corner.

Despite that, rumours abound that the 24-year-old could leave Tottenham this summer and the latest report claims Inter Milan have offered Spurs their pick of either Brozovic or Murillo.

The former is a 24-year-old centre-back who is currently contracted to Inter until the summer of 2020.

Tottenham's Erik Lamela in action

Last season he played 35 times for the club, impressing more often than not, and with 17 caps for Colombia he is certainly an upgrade on Federico Fazio.

That said, it remains to be seen if Tottenham will add any defensive reinforcements to their ranks or if they would be happy to swap Lamela for a player who would be back-up at best, with Jan Vertonghen, Kevin Wimmer and Toby Alderweireld all currently on Spurs’ books.

Brozovic is a Croatian central midfielder who has featured 51 times for Inter, scoring eight goals and providing six assists. But one wonders if either option is any better than simply keeping hold of Lamela or at least holding out for the £25million Tottenham reportedly want in a straight cash deal.
