The Frenchman spent most of the 2015-16 season on the sidelines.
Yet another team is seemingly joining the race for Aston Villa left-back Jordan Amavi – according to reports in France.
The French under-21 international is apparently in the crosshairs of AS Monaco this summer.
Foot01 is stating that the principality side are looking to add to their defence this summer and see Amavi as a perfect addition to take them to the next level.
It was recently reported by French paper L’Equipe that Liverpool – along with AC Milan and Lyon – had made an enquiry for the Villa star. However, the Liverpool Echo then made it clear that there is no interest from Jurgen Klopp’s side.
Aston Villa's Jordan Amavi
The report from Foot01 suggests that Monaco would have to pay €15 million (£11.8 million) to bring in the player this summer - a fee they would struggle to match for the Aston Villa star.
The Frenchman had impressed at Villa Park following his move from Nice last summer until he suffered a serious knee injury whilst on international duty.
Villa would no doubt like to keep the player in order to help them in their fight for promotion from the Championship next season – however it looks increasingly likely that Villa will struggle to keep hold of the player.
