Manchester City are interested in signing Aaron Mooy from Melbourne City in the summer transfer window, according to The Daily Star.
Mooy has been on the books of Melbourne City since the summer of 2014 and has a contract until June 2018, according to Transfermarkt.co.uk.
It has been reported by The Daily Star that City will recruit the 25-year-old midfielder this summer and will loan him out to a club in Belgium for the 2016-17 campaign.
Disappointing for Rangers?
City’s (reported) interest in Mooy will come as a disappointment for Rangers, who have also been linked with the Australia international midfielder.
According to a report in Australian newspaper The Herald Sun in May, Scottish Premiership-bound Rangers are interested in signing Mooy in the summer transfer window.
It is obvious that City are a much richer and more attractive club than Rangers, and the Gers could lose out on the midfielder.
Mooy is one of the best players in Australia and won the A-League Premiership title with Western Sydney Wanderers during the 2012-13 season.
The midfielder was also included in the A-League Team of the Season for the 2015-16 campaign.
