Everton and Leicester City fans have taken to social networking site Twitter to give their reaction to the speculation on the future of Kasper Schmeichel.

According to The Sun, Everton are interested in signing Schmeichel from Premier League rivals Leicester in the summer transfer window.

It has been reported by the British tabloid that the Toffees are plotting a £20 million move for the 29-year-old goalkeeper.

“The Premier League champions are likely to offer him a new deal after his five years at the club,” states the report in The Sun.

“But Everton could try and tempt him with a big offer as they step up their search for a new No1 following Tim Howard’s departure.”

The former Manchester City goalkeeper played an important role in Leicester’s stunning Premier League title triumph during the 2015-16 campaign.

The Denmark international was one of the best in his position in the league this past season.

Everton finished outside the top 10 in the Premier League in 2015-16 and are yet to officially appoint a new manager following the departure of Roberto Martinez.

It is hard to see Schmeichel leave Premier League champions Leicester and join the Merseyside outfit in the summer transfer window.

Leicester will feature in the Champions League next season, and the former Leeds United goalkeeper will surely be looking to play in Europe’s premier club competition.
