England's Euro 2016 campaign started with heartache as they drew 1-1 with Russia at the Stade Velodrome in Marseille on Saturday evening.

The Three Lions entered the tournament with some quiet confidence, but they toiled away in Marseille before Eric Dier curled home a superb free kick to give England the lead.

With the clock ticking down, it looked like England would start a European Championships with a win for the first time in their history - but those hopes were dashed when Vasili Berezutski swooped with a looping header in added time to hand Russia a point.

It was a frustrating night for England, but they will quickly get the chance to put it right when they take on Wales in a huge clash on Thursday afternoon.

After the game, four Tottenham players took to Twitter in order to give their views on the game, with Kyle Walker, goalscorer Dier, Dele Alli and Harry Kane all featuring for Roy Hodgson's side.

All four acknowledged that the game wasn't quite what England were hoping for, but felt there were positives to take out of the game having gone so close to winning three points.

Tottenham fans then responded to each player, with right back Walker receiving huge praise from supporters, who believed he was England's best player on the night.

Dier was also hailed for his inch-perfect free kick and his all-round play in front of the England back four, whilst there was a common theme for striker Kane, as fans urged him to stop taking corner kicks and simply get in the box to score goals on the end of set pieces instead.

What did you think of the performances of Walker, Dier, Alli and Kane?
