West Bromwich Albion are interested in signing Franco Vazquez from Palermo in the summer transfer window, according to Mediagol.it.
It has been reported by the Italian news outlet that AC Milan, AS Roma and Tottenham Hotspur are also interested in securing the services of the 27-year-old attacking midfielder.
In fact, it has been made clear by Palermo president Maurizio Zamparini that Spurs want the Italy international.
“I’m in contact with Tottenham for Vazquez and I requested €25 million for him,” Zamparini recently told Gianlucadimarzio.com.
Roma could feature in the Champions League next season, while Milan are one of the biggest and most historic clubs in the world.
Tottenham will play in the Champions League during the 2016-17 campaign as well, and will also be aiming to win the Premier League title.
With so many top clubs interested in Vazquez, it is unlikely that the former Belgrano star would move to West Brom, who are pretty much an also-ran in the Premier League.
However, West Brom’s (reported) interest in a creative player such as Vazquez could be an indication that manager Tony Pulis wants to play a more dynamic and attacking style of football.
