Reports in Italy are suggesting that Tottenham Hotspur remain interested in signing Fiorentina midfielder Milan Badelj – with his potential transfer fee also being mentioned.

Calcio Mercato is reporting that Spurs and Napoli are keen on the Croatian international midfielder, who is currently away on international duty with the Croatian national team.

The report claims that La Viola’s new director of sport Pantaleo Corvino will meet with Badelj after the tournament in France to discuss his future – and that he will not be available for less than €10 million (£7.9 million).

Tottenham were first reported as interested in the Croatian back in January, as reported by the Daily Mail, as his agent reportedly had fallen out with the Fiorentina hierarchy over unpaid commission.

The 27-year-old former Hamburg midfielder would certainly be a welcome buy at White Hart Lane.

Spurs are on the hunt for some new midfield options, to strengthen the position ahead of a Champions League campaign next season.

The futures of Nabil Bentaleb and Ryan Mason have been called into question recently and Spurs are said to be on the hunt for new blood.

Perhaps Badelj is being revisited.
