Crystal Palace have been linked again with Davide Santon.

According to GianlucaDiMarzio, Crystal Palace have revived their interest in Inter Milan’s Davide Santon.

The report claims that the former Newcastle United man is attracting interest from Cagliari, however the player’s salary poses a stumbling block leaving Palace at the front of the queue.

The Eagles are looking to strengthen their squad this summer as boss Alan Pardew wants to bring in the right kind of players in order to challenge for a top ten spot in the Premier League.

Defence is seemingly an area for concern, especially with Damien Delaney now well into his thirties while in both fullback positions there is arguably room for improvement.

Davide Santon

Santon has Premier League experience having featured at Newcastle under Pardew, and the Italian defender is versatile enough to play in any position across the back four.

His spell at Inter under Roberto Mancini hasn’t exactly gone as planned, playing just 12 times this past season in Serie A which has prompted plenty of speculation over this future at the club.

The 25-year-old would be an ideal addition for Palace, and a return to England could be Santon’s best option this summer as GianlucaDiMarzio report how his salary may be a problem for fellow Italian side.

Santon made 82 league appearances for the Magpies over three seasons, and it appears Pardew remains a big fan of the player and will look to bring him in ahead of next season.
