Former player Ray Parlour believes Leicester City’s N’Golo Kante would be an excellent addition for Arsenal as he praises the player’s influence and energy in midfield, Sky Sports report.

Kante arrived with the Foxes last summer from French side Caen as an unknown quantity to Premier League observers and pundits alike, yet he soon started to earn plenty of praise.

After helping Leicester win the title, many consider the France international to be last season’s signing of the year and it now comes as little surprise to see a host of clubs interested in his services.

Among those is Arsenal (as told by Sky Sports), and former Gunner Ray Parlour believes he would be a welcome addition to Arsene Wenger’s men and a big improvement in the middle.

“I'm sure there's a lot of clubs looking at Kante - he's been superb for Leicester City," Parlour told Sky Sports.

"He's like two men in midfield with his work rate and the way he sets play up. You need that platform from midfield - he would be a great signing for Arsenal if they could get him.”

"If he was in the Arsenal side, playing behind Mesut Ozil, Santi Cazorla and Alexis Sanchez, then Arsenal would have a formidable midfield. I'm sure if he's available then Arsene Wenger will definitely be interested in a player of his quality."

The Gunners have already triggered the release clause of one Leicester player in Jamie Vardy (Sky Sports), yet Kante could be the player the Gunners need most as they seek to strengthen the midfield.

Mathieu Flamini, Mikel Artera and Tomas Rosicky are all to be released this summer therefore there is scope to bring in more bodies in the middle to accompany fellow new signing Granit Xhaka.
