Arsenal midfielder Granit Xhaka was in fine form as Switzerland beat Albania this weekend.

The midfielder became Arsenal’s first signing of the summer transfer window last month as he completed a big money move from Borussia Monchengladbach.

He is a part of the Switzerland squad competing at Euro 2016 this summer and was a starter in the opening game clash with Albania on Saturday afternoon.

Arsenal fans were naturally keen to see how their new man would fare, and they will have been impressed by what they saw. The midfielder was key for his national side as he posted a number of impressive stats in the 1-0 victory over their rivals.

As the table provided by WhoScored shows, the midfielder was heavily involved throughout the game.

He posted 127 touches in total, the most of any player in the game and 33 more than his nearest competitor.

Defensively his was a rock, posting four tackles and winning three, a success rate of 87%. He also managed six clearances, the second most in the gam and won seven defensive aerial duels throughout.

His passing was also superb, as he managed 115 passes in total, 100 of which were accurate, both of which were the most of any player in the game. 

He also registered three key passes and enjoyed an overall pass success of 87% in a display that will have excited Arsenal fans ahead of next season.
