Italian clubs Fiorentina and Bologna are interested in signing Carlos Sanchez from Aston Villa in the summer transfer window, according to Tuttomercatoweb.com.

Sanchez has been on the books of Villa since the summer of 2014 and has a contract until June 2018, according to Transfermarkt.co.uk.

It has been reported by Italian news outlet Tuttomercatoweb.com that Serie A outfit Fiorentina and Bologna want to secure the services of the 30-year-old defensive midfielder this summer.

Fiorentina finished fifth in Serie A during the 2015-16 campaign and have qualified for the group stage of the Europa League next season. Meanwhile, Bologna ended up as low as 14th in the Italian top flight last season.

Sanchez created four chances in 20 Premier League appearances for Villa during the 2015-16 campaign.

The Colombia international defensive midfielder had a pass accuracy of 80% and a shot accuracy of 44%, and won 26 headers, 17 dribbles and 38 tackles.

Villa got relegated from the Premier League at the end of the 2015-16 campaign and will feature in the Championship next season.
