Newly-appointed Hibernian manager Neil Lennon has suggested to The Glasgow Evening Times that he could try to re-sign Liam Henderson from Celtic in the summer transfer window.

Henderson played for Scottish Championship side Hibernian on loan from Scottish Premiership outfit Celtic during the 2015-16 season.

The 20-year-old midfielder enjoyed a good spell at Hibs, winning the Scottish Cup with the Edinburgh club.

The Scotland Under-21 international has returned to his parent club Celtic and is due to report for pre-season training.

Lennon, a former Celtic manager, has suggested that he is interested in bringing back Henderson, but he has admitted that it will not be easy.

“He’ll want to impress Brendan and he’ll want to have a good look at him,” Lennon told The Glasgow Evening Times when asked about Henderson. “It might be difficult. I don’t want to talk about players at other clubs at the minute.”

Henderson is a talented and promising young midfielder, and he will want to impress new Celtic manager Brendan Rodgers in pre-season training.

It will not be easy for the young Scot to play regularly for the Bhoys next season due to the competition for places.

However, having already played in the Scottish Championship, the next step in Henderson’s development is to feature in the Scottish Premiership.
