Reported Sunderland target Djibril Sidibe has been quoted by the Chronicle suggesting that he is overwhelmed about the speculation over his future.
Sidibe has been linked with Sunderland, PSG and Watford in recent times, with the full-back looking likely to leave his current club Lille.
The Ligue 1 side are believed to be wanting around £10 million for the right-back.
And Sidibe said: “Yes I have seen the speculation and my friends have been regularly sending me texts to tell me.
“I’m a bit overwhelmed by it all and I faced the same situation when I left Troyes. There has been contact, I don’t deny that, but that’s all.
“My agent handles that, but I’m not involved in any of the talks yet. I have a contract with Lille.”
Sunderland boss Sam Allardyce reportedly wants Sidibe as he feels he would be able to enhance the quality of his defensive options.
The full-back has looked strong defensively in Ligue 1 this term, and also provided and good outlet going forward.
Sunderland are on the look out for a right-back, as their options are limited in that position currently.
Billy Jones fell out of favour towards the back end of last season, while DeAndre Yedlin’s loan spell has expired and he has returned to Tottenham Hotspur.
Sidibe made 42 appearances for Lille last season, scoring on six occasions.
