Arsenal manager has spoken in glowing terms of Leicester City star N’Golo Kante, while speaking on the Bein Sport Euro Show tonight, as reported by GetFootballNewsFrance.

The Foxes midfielder enjoyed a fantastic campaign last season that has seen his stock rise considerably and prompted talk of a possible exit from the King Power Stadium.

Among his suitors is believed to be Arsenal – as reported by Eurosport – and Wenger’s comments will have done little to dampen the speculation.

“I admire and like N’Golo Kanté a lot. It gives you ideas… He gives you the feeling that the higher the level he plays at, the more at ease he is,” said the Gunners boss.

“We are talking about numbers; he has the most interceptions in Europe & by far, he has incredible quality, he feels the game - only very few people can do that. He’s always where he needs to be. It is very rare to have that in the central midfielder. Not always orthodox, but always in the right place.”

Arsenal fans have been calling for the signing of a defensive midfielder for several seasons and Kante would certainly fit the bill.

The Gunners have already completed the capture of talented central midfielder Granit Xhaka but may still be in the market for a more defensive-minded addition to their current crop.

Recent reports from the likes of the Guardian have linked Leicester stars Jamie Vardy and Riyad Mahrez with a switch to Arsenal, and if Wenger decides to act on his fondness for the Frenchman, the Foxes’ Holy Trinity could soon be making their way to North London.
