The giant striker would be a shrewd Championship signing.
General view inside the City Ground
Heracles Almelo striker Wout Weghorst has recently spoken about his future, as he prepares to leave the club.
"Meanwhile, there already come out that there is interest for me, also from the second tier in the Netherlands. The choice has become more luxurious. That second tier would be for me to be a good next step.
“When I go abroad, I'm going to England. I already know. There I can also go. Two or three clubs are serious. I want to realize my dream Premier League. Now the balance: Do I do that through the Championship or the second tier in the Netherlands."
So should Nottingham Forest make a move for the player?
Forest are looking to bring in some attacking reinforcements this summer and Weghorst would certainly be an attractive signature from the City Ground outfit.
The forward has had a brilliant season in Holland – scoring 15 goals in 39 appearances. The 23-year-old, who also has one goal from one Dutch under-21 international appearance, would be a brilliant signature for the club.
The City Ground general view before clash with Hull
The 6ft 6ins striker could act as the perfect foil for the returning Britt Assombalonga for Forest. Not only is he a skilled hold up man but he can also take his chances when they come and would hopefully have more of an impact then his countryman Lars Veldwijk did at the City Ground.
He is likely to be an affordable option in the summer and Forest should certainly consider bringing him to the East Midlands.
