Leeds United could be busy in the next few months.

Leeds United were always going to be linked with a number of new players this summer, but with Garry Monk recently taking charge that has only increased the transfer chatter.

The former Swansea City boss will want to make his mark on the Whites and ensure they earn promotion back to the top flight next season, and signing the right players will be vital to the cause.

Here we take a look at the top five players linked with Leeds this week:

Ashley Fletcher celebrates after scoring the first goal for Barnsley

Ashley Fletcher

According to a report from the print edition of the Sun (5/6 page 65) Leeds are interested in a loan deal for Manchester United forward Ashley Fletcher.

The 20-year-old enjoyed a temporary spell at Barnsley last season and is now said to be high on Leeds’ owner Massimo Cellino’s wanted list.

Celtic's Anthony Stokes celebrates scoring their third goal

Anthony Stokes

According to an exclusive from HITC Sport earlier this week, Leeds are one of the clubs leading the chase for Celtic striker Anthony Stokes after the Bhoys opted to allow him to leave this summer.

The forward has long been linked with the Whites but could this be the summer when he finally arrives?

Rui Correia

According to a report from Portuguese newspaper Record, Leeds are considering a triple swoop on Nacional for three of their star players.

Rui Correia is a centre-back by trade although he can do a job as a holding midfielder if required. The 25-year-old is a decent option when it comes to set-pieces at both ends of the field, with the player netting five times for his current club last season.

Ali Ghazal

Egypt international Ali Ghazal is a defensive midfielder who has spent his whole career at Nacional.

Now 24 it could be the perfect time for him to move on, and with Leeds needing reinforcements in the centre of the park a move may not be out of the question.

Salvador Agra

The pick of the trio from the Portuguese club, Salvador Agra is a 24-year-old winger who scored 13 goals and provided 14 assists last season.

He is exactly the kind of wide man Leeds are lacking – a consistent goal threat and fine creative force – yet as a result he will not come cheap.
