Fulham defender Richard Stearman has congratulated Andy Lonergan on his move to Wolverhampton Wanderers.
Lonergan completed a switch from Fulham to Wolves yesterday, with Kenny Jackett looking to bolster his goalkeeping options.
Wolves already have Carl Ikeme at the club, but Lonergan will be expected to challenge the Nigerian international for a place in the starting line-up.
Stearman knows Wolves well, having played for them for a sizeable amount of time, and he has told Lonergan that he is joining a great club.
Stearman was a fans’ favourite at Molineux, and there was great surprise when he was allowed to leave in the summer of 2015.
Stearman won Wolves’ Player of the Season during the 2014/15 campaign, with his performances in the heart of their defence catching the eye.
Stearman made 234 appearances for Wolves, during a seven year stay at Molineux.
Lonergan has signed a two-year deal at Wolves, with the Midlands club having an option to extend the contract for a further year if he impresses.
