Former Watford manager Quique Sanchez Flores is linked with Sevilla
According to Spanish Radio Station Cadena Ser, former Watford manager Quique Sanchez Flores could be about to make a shock return to management in Spain, as boss of Sevilla.
The Europa League winners, who retained their title for a third consecutive year under Unai Emery, are believed to preparing for the worst, with their coveted boss attracting the attention of the Paris Saint-Germain hierarchy.
Sevilla's Unai Emery could be on his way to PSG
The Spanish radio station suggest that Emery has already said his goodbyes to the Sevilla team, and that his appointment as the next manager at the Parc de Princes is not far off.
Quique Sanchez Flores was sacked last month
And it appears that Quique Sanchez Flores, despite being sacked by Watford less than a month ago, is one of the front runners to take over from Emery.
Flores was sacked as manager of the Hornets despite guiding the club to a commendable 13th place after promotion in 2015, as well as to an FA Cup semi-final.
Would Sanchez Flores make a good appointment for Sevilla?
But these achievements were not enough to spare him from the axe of the Pozzo family, who sighted the club’s poor form in 2016 – with just three wins since the turn of the year – as sufficient to see the former Real Madrid icon depart Vicarage Road.
Yet it seems every crowd has a silver lining, and for Flores, that could see him installed in one of the top jobs in Europe.
