HITC Sport understands Brighton goalkeeper is set for a loan move.
Brighton's Christian Walton celebrates their first goal
Luton Town are among a number of clubs chasing Brighton and Hove Albion's highly-rated goalkeeper Christian Walton on loan.
Walton is highly regarded by Brighton boss Chris Hughton, but he feels the keeper would benefit from going out on loan next season to gain valuable first-team experience.
The 20-year-old joined Bury on loan at the start of last season, but saw his stay cut short by injury and was forced to return to Brighton.
The 19-year-old made six appearances during his loan stint at Bury before joining Plymouth Argyle on a two-month loan spell where he made four appearances for the Pilgrims.
Walton made his senior debut for the Seagulls in a League Cup clash with Tottenham Hotspur two seasons ago going on to make three appearances in the Championship - keeping two clean sheets in his four outings.
Christian Walton during England training
Walton is well down the pecking order at the Amex Stadium with David Stockdale, Niki Maenpaa and Casper Ankergren ahead of the England Under-20 international in Hughton's first-team plans.
The likes of Aberdeen, Oxford United, Bristol Rovers and Wycombe Wanderers have all also expressed an interest in Walton.
Luton are hoping to beat their rivals to Walton with Hatters boss Nathan Jones a big admirer of the player having worked with the keeper during his time as assistant manager at Brighton.
