Michael Taylor has taken to Twitter to express his delight after putting pen to paper on his first Leeds United contract.

The 18-year-old academy graduate signed a one-year professional deal with Leeds after completing his two-year scholarship at Thorp Arch.

Taylor, a right-back, captained United at Under-18 level regularly throughout the 2015-16 season - a campaign which will the youngster will have been delighted with under the circumstances.

Toward the end of the 2014-15 term, Taylor suffered a serious neck injury, but the teenager appears to have shaken it off as he becomes the fourth Leeds graduate to turn professional this summer, following in the footsteps of Tom Pearce, Ronaldo Vieira and Jack Vann.

Regular first-team spots are unlikely next term, with new manager Garry Monk under huge pressure to impress ruthless Italian owner Massimo Cellino, who dismissed Steve Evans earlier this month.

That being said, Taylor's route into the first team might be set to get slightly less treacherous following reports that right-back Giuseppe Bellusci is set to join Empoli, according to Gianluca Di Marzio.
