Report: Middlesbrough consider Falcao

Middlesbrough are reportedly in for Radamel Falcao.

Middlesbrough are set to offer the chance for Radamel Falcao the chance to rekindle his diminishing reputation with another crack at the Premier League, according to Bleacher Report UK.

The newly promoted Premier League outfit have very close ties with super agent Jorge Mendes, the agent of their boss Aitor Karanka, is very close to Peter Kenyon - the former Chelsea and Manchester United chief executive who has been working very closely in recent years with Boro chairman Steve Gibson.

Bleacher Report UK has now revealed that Boro are considering a move for Falcao.

Now back in the Premier League - it has been brought to Boro's attention that they could be a possible landing spot for Falcao - who is understood to be keen on staying in England for a third season.

Falcao is contracted to French side Monaco, but has spent the last two seasons on loan at Manchester United and Chelsea - but neither move has been a success with much of his time spent on the substitutes bench.

But the 30-year-old - who is not involved with Colombia at this summer's Copa America - feels he is still a class act, and Boro are ready to take a gamble - who would represent a large outlay in terms of his wages - but his agent Mendes is likely to be able to smooth over a good deal for the Teesside outfit.

Boro were no strangers to spending big on strikers during their previous times in Premier League - with the likes of Fabrizio Ravanelli, Alen Boksic, Mido, Afonso Alves and Tuncay Sanli all featuring for the club in previous campaigns.

Middlesbrough spent big money on both Jordan Rhodes and David Nugent to help them into the Premier League, but Aitor Karanka is understood to want an experienced top-level striker to help lead their charge.
