Southampton are set to offer Frank de Boer £3million-a-year to become their next manager, reports the Express.

The Saints will need to find a new manager this summer, with current boss Ronald Koeman set to depart in a move to Everton.

He should be confirmed as the new Toffees boss sometime this week, with the two clubs having thrashed out a £5million compensation for the Dutchman this week.

Finding a replacement is likely to be an easy task, with Koeman leaving a solid base and European football for the next incumbent after an impressive two years at the club.

And it appears that his successor could be compatriot De Boer, who is out of work after leaving Ajax at the end of last season.

According to the Express, they will offer him £3million-a-year to take up the reigns at Saint Mary’s next season.

They face competition for his signature from Lazio, but according to the report are confident they will be successful as the Serie A side can only offer £1.2million a year in wages.

The club had also targeted Sevilla boss Unai Emery, but he is heading to PSG, while an enquiry for Bournemouth boss Eddie Howe proved unsuccessful.
