Tottenham Hotspur face a threat from German side Wolfsburg for Vincent Janssen, report Dutch outlet BN DeStem.

Janssen held talks with Tottenham in London on Tuesday, but the report states AZ Alkmaar have still not received a bid for the striker.

Wolfsburg have reportedly contacted AZ Alkmaar to express their interest, although they too are yet to submit an offer.

Janssen finished as the Eredivisie top goalscorer last season, and Alkmaar's preference is to hang onto him.

Despite this, they are willing to accept a fee in the region of £15 million, which would be a club record.

Janssen is a Dutch international who soon turns 22, and is a potential bargain for the team who snap him up.

Tottenham appear to be in pole position, but the longer they dally, the more chance there is of another club coming in and beating them to the punch.

Importantly, Wolfsburg cannot offer Champions League football after finishing just eighth in the Bundesliga, so Spurs may not be panicking just yet about their interest.
