According to a report on TeamTalk, Southampton and Fulham are two of the clubs chasing Brentford prospect Juan Pablo Gonzalez Velasco.
Velasco is yet to make his breakthrough for the Bees, but he has impressed in their development squads.
The Colombian has caught the eye at both under-21 and under-18 level, and TeamTalk claims that plenty of clubs are willing to take a punt on the youngster.
Southampton and Fulham are believed to be in competition with Chelsea and Burnley for the 17-year-old attacking midfielder.
Brentford are said to be willing to cash in on Velasco, as they are looking to restructure their youth set-up.
Velasco is regarded as one of the brightest prospects coming through at Griffin Park, and his potential was highlighted when he was capped by Colombia’s under-17 side earlier this season.
Southampton and Fulham have both previously had success with capturing young talent and nurturing them into first-team stars.
Velasco was reportedly tracked by Queens Park Rangers and Norwich City earlier in his career, but the pair are not believed to be interested in signing the youngster at this stage.
