The Northern Irishman is preparing for his first season with the Scottish Premiership side.
The former Liverpool boss was recently unveiled as Ronny Deila's successor at Parkhead. And with his attention likely to be firmly focused on ensuring that the squad is in the best possible position to do well in the Champions League qualifiers in July, it appears that he is hoping to prepare the Bhoys by putting some tricky games in front of them beforehand.
After taking on Celje on June 30th, the club's official website reports that Rodgers will then take his team to Austria to face Sturm Graz before returning to Slovenia to face the current champions of their top flight, Olympija Ljubljana, and rounding off the trip by facing Maribor, who will be very well known to Rodgers' predecessor.
It was Maribor who ensured that Deila's tenure got off to a shaky start as a 1-0 win at Celtic Park saw the away side win 2-1 on aggregate and book their place in the Champions League group stages, meaning that the Scottish Premiership champions had to settle for a spot in the Europa League.
While their upcoming encounter will only be a friendly, Rodgers may feel that victories in the final two games especially - their penultimate opponents of the tour will enter the Champions League in the same round as the Hoops - will give the side the confidence they need to go into Europe this time around and make a much more positive impression.
